FWPD: Shooting Investigation, 2400 block Abbey Drive

On May 13, 2026, at 1401 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 2400 block of Abbey Drive in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Details/Summary:

On May 13, 2026, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 2400 block of Abbey Drive in Fort Wayne.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately began administering life-saving measures. The victim was later pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.

The Fort Wayne Homicide Unit is actively investigating the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

At this time, there are no known threats to the community. The temporary lockdown at the local university and nearby schools, which was implemented as a precaution, has been lifted, and normal operations have resumed.
