The Allen County Coroner has identified Akaija Tanate Miller as the 10th Allen County Homicide in 2026.
News release from the Allen County Coroner:
Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 12, 2026) – The autopsy has been completed, and notification has been made to the next of kin for the individual that was found deceased within their home in the 1800 block of Griswold Drive, in Fort Wayne, on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at approximately 09:52 hours. The decedent was pronounced deceased a the scene by Three Rivers Ambulance Authority.
Identified is Akaija Tanate Miller, female, black, 28 years of age, from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Akaija Tanate Miller’s Cause of Death has been determined to be Multiple Gunshot Wounds, and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Akaija Tanate Miller is the 10th Homicide for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2026.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
