NWS Update: Monday severe weather potential – 4/27/2026

Update from the National Weather Service on the potential for severe weather on tomorrow, April 27, 2026.

Key Messages

  • Two rounds of storms are possible Monday:
    • 12-7PM EDT (unlikely to be severe)
    • 8PM-2AM EDT (main severe threat but depends on how round 1 evolves
  • Damaging winds, heavy rain, and embedded tornadoes will be the main hazards within round 2.
  • The greatest risk is west of SR 15. Storms are expected to steadily weaken as they move east of SR 15 after midnight EDT.
