FWPD: Barricaded Subject, 2600 block Corvalis Avenue

On April 14, 2026, at 1007 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a residence in the 2600 block of Corvalis Avenue after receiving reports that an adult male had placed an adult female in a headlock and dragged her into the home.

Details/Summary:

Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a residence in the 2600 block of Corvalis Avenue after receiving reports that an adult male had placed an adult female in a headlock and dragged her into the home. Witnesses also reported that a one-year-old child was inside the residence. Officers attempted multiple methods of contacting the occupants over an extended period of time but received no response. As a result, the Emergency Services Team (EST), Crisis Response Team (CRT), and Air Support Unit (ASU) were requested to assist in de-escalating the situation.

Shortly after EST arrived on scene, the occupants exited the residence, and the adult male was taken into custody without incident. Charges are pending as officers continue to interview the victim and determine what occurred earlier today. The adult female does not appear to have sustained any serious injuries.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
