This map shows the total of severe weather watches issued by the NWS Storms Prediction Center for this year.

Fort Wayne, Indiana (April 8, 2026) – We shared this map from the Storm Prediction Center last week, but wanted to post the updated version. In case you missed it, our office is currently leading for the most severe thunderstorm watches so far in 2026! If you live in northern Indiana, you have been under more severe thunderstorm watches than anywhere else in the United States! This map likely changes later this week as a multi-day severe weather outbreak is possible to our west across the Plains.
