On February 3, 2026, at 2150 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to an attached garage fire that had spread into the house in the 4500 block of Lillie Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Scene: 2153 hours
Under Control: 2226 hours
Flames and smoke were showing When Engine 12 and Truck 12 arrived. The flames were intense enough to cause damage to a neighboring house. Crews went to an interior attack and also searched the house to make sure all occupants were out and safe. Other crews arrived and assisted in efforts to bring the fire under control, which took 30 minutes.
Crews will remain on the scene checking for hot spots.
The fire is currently under investigation.
Two cats were inside, but had already perished.
