Details/Summary:
Officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to reports of a crash in the 1500 Block of E. Pontiac St. at Reed St. Upon arrival they found a pickup truck on its top against a house and a smaller passenger car was nearby with heavy front-end and driver’s side damage. The driver of the passenger car, an adult female, was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition. The driver of the pickup truck, an adult male, was also transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) was called to the scene to investigate. Initial investigation indicates both speed and alcohol were factors in this crash. The Red Cross has been contacted to assist the residents of the home, who are being displaced because of the damage. This intersection remains closed while FACT documents the scene and collect evidence.
The crash remains under investigation by the FWPD FACT team.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
