On June 29, 2025, at 1855 hours, 9-1-1 received a call from multiple bystanders reporting a detached garage on fire behind 600 block of West State Boulevard.

Under Control: 1906 hours
The Fort Wayne Fire Department arrived on the scene within three minutes and found both the building and a vehicle in flames and several explosions were heard. The garage was being used to store fireworks.
Multiple fire companies used large-caliber streams both inside and outside the building to extinguish the fire. The electrical power line to the structure was burned away. Nearby structures sustained minor damage due to the high heat. The fire was brought under control in 11 minutes. No one was in the building at the time of the fire, and there were no reported injuries.

The incident is under investigation.
Several agencies collaborated to resolve this emergency including: 9-1-1 Communications, the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, City of Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Enforcement, and Indiana Michigan Power.
