The Homicide Task Force located and arrested Devon Stewart Jr. and William Britt in connection with the June 1, 2025, murder of Alice F. Hall in the 900 block of Colerick Street.

Location of Arrest: 3400 block of North Wells Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana

Preliminary Charges:

  1. Murder – Acting in Concert – Felony Level 1

Time: 0530 hours

Details/Summary:

On June 1, 2025, FWPD Officers responded to the 900 block of Colerick St where they located an 86-year-old female victim, identified as Alice Hall, suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics arrived and attempted life-saving measures, but the victim succumbed to her injuries, and she was pronounced deceased. FWPD Homicide Detectives responded and conducted a criminal investigation, and through the course of the homicide investigation identified Devon L. Stewart Jr. 18yo and William Britt 18yo as suspects. The Homicide Task Force located and arrested Devon Stewart Jr. in the 4200 block of Bowser Ave without incident, and William Britt was located and arrested in the 3400 block of N. Wells St without incident. Devon Stewart Jr. is preliminary charged with Murder, and William Britt is preliminary charged with Murder – Acting in Concert. Both Stewart and Britt are currently being held at the Allen County Jail.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
