Celebrate the Wonders of the Wetlands
Free, Fun, and Family-FriendlyFort Wayne, Indiana (May 15, 2025) – These days finding a low-cost option for recreation and entertainment seems harder to find. But guess what, the Wetlands Passport Tour is 100% free—no tickets, no parking fees, no catches, REALLY!
Explore Fort Wayne’s Wetlands, this Saturday, May 17, 2025, for the Wetlands Passport Tour happening from noon-5p.m.
This FREE family-friendly event will have you exploring and learning about three of Fort Wayne’s natural wetlands: Beckett’s Run (817 W. Dupont Rd. from Solamon Farm), Eagle Marsh (6801 Engle Rd.), and Camp Scott Wetlands (3615 Oxford St.).
Sponsored by City Utilities and Little Rivers Wetlands, tourists can pick any of the three locations to begin their journey. They can pick up a Wetlands Passport at their first stop, have it stamped at each site, and receive a prize when they finish the journey.
This exploration of our wetlands is a chance to enjoy the great outdoors and experience rare plants and birds that you may not see on your daily stroll. Knowledgeable staff members will be on hand to answer questions and provide an educational opportunity to learn about the vital role wetlands play in our city.
Adventurers should bring:
- Binoculars (if possible, to see far away birds)
- Cameras (to capture pictures of your new wetland friends)
- Comfortable walking shoes (you’ll be walking on all types of surfaces and injuries are fun for no one)
- Curiosity
The Catching Rain Wetlands Tour promises to be an informative and enjoyable day for all ages. Visit wetlandstours.org for more information.
