The Allen County Coroner has identified Jeffrey Stoppenhagen as the 40th Allen County Homicide in 2024.
News release from the Allen County Coroner:
On December 17, 2024, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of an officer invovled shooting in the 2700 block of Ascension Court, Allen County, Indiana. The individual was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
The individual was identified as Jeffrey Stoppenhagen, male, White, 51 years of age from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Notification was made to the next of kin and an autopsy has been completed. The Cause of Death is Gunshot Wound of Torso, and the Manner of Death is Homicide-Police Action Shooting.
Jeffrey Stoppenhagen is the 40th Homicide for Allen County in 2024.
The incident remains under investigation by the Indiana State Police, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
