On April 27, 2024, at 0924 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a residential fire in the 1300 block of McCulloch Street.
Time of Alarm: 0924 hours
On Scene: 0927 hours
Under Control: 0944 hours
Upon arrival, firefighters found dark smoke coming from the upstairs floor. Residents of the 2-story house were evacuated which was confirmed by a quick search of structure. Residents also stated that they thought the fire was in an upstairs bedroom.
Engine 9 found a working fire in an upstairs bedroom which was rapidly extinguished. Other crews assisted with ventilation, salvage, and overhaul.
The fire is under investigation but appears accidental in nature with possible electrical issues as the fault.
The American Red Cross is assisting the occupants.
