Details/Summary:
On Monday April 22nd 2024 at approximately 1647 hrs officers were dispatched to the 305.7 mm of I-69 NB (Just north of Illinois Rd) regarding a vehicle crash. Officers arrived to find a motorcycle had collided with a 5th wheel camper.
TRAA medics transported the elderly rider of the motorcycle to a local area hospital where their condition was declared to be life threatening condition. Neither speed nor alcohol were believed to be a factor. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Dept Fatal Crash Team.
I-69 NB at Illinois Rd will be down to 1 lane and the ramp from Illinois WB to I69 NB closed until the conclusion of the investigation.
