Details/Summary:
The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a disturbance call at approximately 8:47am today at 3600 Central Dr. Dispatch advised that an older female made threats to tree workers trying to complete a job. The adult female went back inside the residence after making the threats. The FWPD responded to the scene and the female came back outside with a gun and discharged it. FWPD officers returned fire and the female retreated back inside. Tactical units made the scene and made numerous attempts to have the female exit voluntarily, but were unsuccessful. The Emergency Service Team made entry into the residence and located the woman suffering from a gunshot wound. TRAA provided aid to the woman and transported her to a local hospital in non-life threatening condition. No officers or tree workers were injured in the incident.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Indiana State Police. ISP will conduct an independent investigation.
