Details/Summary:
On Wednesday February 21st 2024 just at approximately 0950 am officers were dispatched to a home in the 5300 block of Forest Ave for a suicidal person. A concerned 3rd party contacted 911 regarding an individual who made statements alluding that he would burn his home down. This same person has previously made threats to assault officers on previous incidents.
When officers arrived on scene, they made contact with a male adult who refused to exit the home. Due to the nature of the threats being made and previous involvements with the male threatening law enforcement, the Fort Wayne Police Department Emergency Services Team and Crisis Response Team were dispatched.
Forest Ave between Reed Rd and Berkley Avenue will remain closed until the incident is resolved.
