On Wednesday, May 24th, 2023 at 1452 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department arrested a juvenile in the area of 200 Lexington Court. The Fort Wayne Homicide Unit conducted the criminal investigation and had several criminal charges against the juvenile suspect in connection to a shooting that occurred on August 20, 2022 in the 1500 block of E. Lewis Street. During the subsequent investigation, multiple weapons were recovered and the juvenile suspect transported to the Allen County Juvenile Detention Center. The Fort Wayne Homicide Unit was assisted by the Gang and Violent Crimes Unit, the Narcotics Division, the Aerial Support Unit, Crime Scene Management and the Allen County Prosecutors Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
