Details/Summary:
On April 19, 2023, at approximately 7:27pm Fort Wayne Police Officers responded to the intersection of S. Calhoun St. and W. Main St. in reference to an officer involved personal injury accident.
As a Fort Wayne Police Officer was turning left onto east bound W. Main St. from southbound S. Calhoun St., the officer’s vehicle made contact with an adult pedestrian who was crossing across E. Main St. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for treatment where the condition of the pedestrian was described as life threatening.
Do to the ongoing investigation, the name of the officer and pedestrian has not been released.
The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) along with the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Air Support Unit (ASU) was on scene for the investigation.
