News release from Fort Wayne City Utilities:

Debris from Weekend Storms Requires Drain Action

Fort Wayne, Indiana (April 4, 2023) – Weekend storms pushed twigs, leaves and other debris into street gutters and storm drains, and with rain in the forecast, it’s time to take action and protect homes and neighborhoods.

With more than 22,000 stormwater drains, it takes all of us to be vigilant after a storm and check the streets and drains in our neighborhood.

A clogged drain can cause stormwater to overflow into streets, yards, and homes. Once items are pulled or swept up from the drains and gutters, residents should throw the debris into the trash so it doesn’t wash back into the drain when the rain comes.
