Details/Summary:
On Sunday, 10/09/2022, at approximately 3:24 AM, officers with the City of Fort Wayne Police Department were on routine patrol in the area of Hanna Street and Hayden Street when they heard several gunshots being fired nearby. While officers were canvassing the area, dispatch received a call reference a shooting at the East Central Towers Apartments at 905 East Washington Blvd. Officers arrived and located the adult/male victim in the parking lot of the apartments. He was conscious and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s). Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital his condition was downgraded to life-threatening by a physician.
Preliminary information indicates the shooting occurred in the parking lot. Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance video from the apartment complex and interviewing potential witnesses.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Anyone with information is encouraged to call crime stoppers at 436-7867 or use the free “P3 Tips” app.
