TinCaps Tally 12 Hits, But Fall

Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 1, 2022) – The TinCaps tallied 12 hits on Wednesday night, but lost to the West Michigan Whitecaps, 6-4, at Parkview Field.

This game went down to the wire as Fort Wayne (20-35, 47-74) scored a run in the eighth to trim its deficit and loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning. However, the TinCaps dropped to 20-34 in games decided by one or two runs on the season.

Fort Wayne led 2-1 at the end of the first inning, thanks to an RBI double by designated hitter Brandon Valenzuela and a two-out, run-scoring single from right fielder Agustín Ruiz.
