Details/Summary:
On Saturday, 01/01/2022, at approximately 2:31 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Kensington Blvd. reference a vehicle crash with injuries. Witnesses reported a pickup truck struck a tree. Officers arrived and located a Chevy pickup truck with heavy front-end damage. Paramedics pronounced the driver/sole occupant of the truck deceased at the scene.
Preliminary information indicates the pickup truck was traveling southbound on Kensington Blvd. when it left the roadway and struck a tree. Investigators confirmed speed was a contributing factor in the crash. They were unable to determine if alcohol was a contributing factor at this time.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
