Fort Wayne Fire Department incident report on a house fire on River Rapids Run this afternoon.

Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 2, 2021) – On June 2, 2021, at 12:25 pm, the Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a reported house fire in the 10100 block of River Rapids Run, which was called in by a delivery driver who was driving by.

Fort Wayne Firefighters arrived on the scene with heavy fire on the outside walls of the house and flames burning through part of the roof on the 2-story home. A neighboring home’s siding melted due to the heat from the fire.

One adult and 2 children inside safely escaped, along with a cat and lizard were removed by firefighters. The fire was brought under control in less than thirty minutes. An extensive overhaul was required due to heavy fire damage in the attic and outside walls of the home.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by the Allen County Building Department, the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, NIPSCO, and Indiana Michigan Power.
