On May 6th, 2021 at approximately 7:47pm Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a shooting in the area of McKinnie Ave. and S. Monroe St. There was varying information coming into Dispatch and initially it was unclear how many victims were shot and where those victims where located.

Two victims were quickly located with non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital: an adult male and an adult female. Preliminary investigation indicated that a residence on the 3600 block of Hanna St. was of interest and a search warrant was obtained. The Crises Response team attempted to make phone contact with the person of interest, but was unsuccessful. The house was cleared by the Emergency Service Team and no one was located inside.

This investigation is fluid and on-going and Detectives continue to exhaust all possible leads.
