Fatal Shooting Investigation

Date: April 20, 2021

Time: 5:13 PM

Location: 800 block of Third Street

On Tuesday, 04/20/2021, at approximately 5:13 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 800 block of Third Street reference an unknown problem. The initial caller told dispatch there were two unconscious females inside a residence. Officers arrived and located two female/adult victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One of the females was pronounced deceased at the scene. Paramedics transported the second female to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood and speaking with potential witnesses. In addition, witnesses have been transported to police headquarters for interviews. Detectives hope to have additional information once those interviews are completed. There is no suspect information to provide at this time.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased identity along with the cause and manner of death. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
