Shooting Investigation

Location: 2300 block of Glenwood Avenue

Details:

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at approximately 9:59 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the area of Glenwood Avenue reference gunshots being fired in the area. Dispatch received several calls from citizens reporting the gunshots. While responding to the area, officers were advised there was a shooting victim in the 2300 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Officers arrived and located the male/adult victim lying in the front yard of a residence. The victim was suffering from two apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital his condition was downgraded to life-threatening by a physician.

Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood and speaking with potential witnesses. In addition, witnesses have been transported to police headquarters for interviews. Detectives hope to have additional information once those interviews are completed. There is no suspect information to provide at this time.
