House fire, Hemlock Lane
(December 5, 2020) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a second structure fire on the city’s Northeast side tonight in the 3900 block of Hemlock Lane. The residents returned to their home to find fire and smoke inside when opening their front door. They made sure to close the door then called 911. The first arriving Engine obtained information from the homeowner and extinguished a fire in the first-floor kitchen. A search of the home located two family pets that had perished. No injuries to any persons occurred at this incident and the cause is under investigation. TRAA, FWPD, NIPSCO, AEP, and Neighborhood Code Enforcement worked to resolve this emergency incident as well.
