Fort Wayne Fire Department news release:
House fire, Lima Road
(December 4, 2020) – The FWFD was dispatched on a structure fire with multiple calls in the 3400 block of Lima Road on December 4, 2020, at 1:51 am.
The first arriving engine company found a well involved single story residential fire with the south exposure house also catching fire. The initial dispatch reported that all occupants were out. Fire crews confirmed that 2 occupants had self-evacuated. Crews made a quick attack on fire while also protecting the exposure house. The exposure house had minimal damage but extensive damage occurred to the dispatched address. A secondary search revealed nothing else. Later during overhaul, a deceased cat was found buried under debris.
Cause of the fire is still under investigation.
FWFD was assisted by TRAA EMS, FWPD, neighborhood code, AEP and NIPSCO.
