Fort Wayne Fire Department news release:
House fire, Oakland Street
(November 24, 2020) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 1400 block of Oakland Street at 1:04 pm, on November 24, 2020. One occupant of the home and a neighbor called 9-1-1 reporting flames from a window of the house. A fire was extinguished in a second-floor bathroom and the entire structure was searched for victims.
No injuries occurred at this incident and the cause is under investigation.
Fort Wayne Police and Three Rivers Ambulance assisted on the scene. Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code, AEP, and NIPSCO coordinated to ensure the residence was safe for continued occupancy.
