Downtown Improvement District news release:
The Days of Holly Shopping starts Saturday
(November 23, 2020) – Come celebrate the Days of Holly Shopping every Saturday from November 28th through December 19th in Downtown Fort Wayne.
Sadly, in compliance with current COVID-19 conditions, there will be no trolleys provided to the public as a part of Shop Small Saturday 2020. We know that you will certainly miss this favorite shopping tradition, but we are excited to see the new memories that you and your family will create.
FOUR DAYS OF SHOP SMALL SATURDAY:
This year shop small Saturday will take place on not just one Saturday, but every Saturday between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Expanding this event out over four days helps keep people safe while still supporting our friends and neighbors in the retail sector. You can support your favorite Downtown business by visiting their brick and mortar in person or shopping online from the comfort of your home. Remember that every dollar spent in our local shops recirculates about five times in local spending, making all of our holidays merry and bright! Visit DowntownFortWayne.com/shopping to be linked to Downtown shopping.
Do you want to find a snowman? Olaf was bored during quarantine and built some snowman friends. He has hidden them around Downtown for you to find. During each “Day of Holly Shopping” you can find one of several snowmen hidden around various Downtown shopping establishments. If you find one, be sure to check your snowman and follow the clue to claim your prize. Remember to share, only one snowman per family please, Santa is watching!
Holiday Cheer: The best way to spread Christmas cheer is to sing along for all to hear. Keep your eye out each Day of Holly Shopping. Some of your favorite holiday characters will be cruising through Downtown each Saturday radiating with holiday cheer!
So bring your family, your masks, and your yuletide vibes. Let’s create new memories during The Days of Holly Shopping in Downtown Fort Wayne.
Holly Shopping is presented by the Downtown Improvement District and generously sponsored by WANE 15, Fort Wayne Newspapers, Majic 95.1, Classic Hits 101.7 and Fort Wayne Metals.
