Allen County GOP Election Night activities

(October 30, 2020) – Allen County Republican Party Chairman Steve Shine announced today that the Allen County GOP will have a limited Election Night event for Republican precinct committee chairs and vice-chairs, candidates and their immediate families, and elected officials.

The scaled-back GOP Election Night event will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Marquis Ballroom of the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Fort Wayne Hotel & Conference Center, 305 East Washington Center Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The event will not be open to the general public, but rather, attendance will be strictly limited to Republican precinct committee chairs and vice-chairs, candidates and their immediate families, elected officials, and the news media. No more than a cumulative number of 150 attendees will be allowed in the Ballroom for the evening. Thus, once that attendance level is reached, there will be no further admissions into the Ballroom regardless of the number of people who leave.

Shine said, “In recognition of recommendations to curb the spread of COVID-19, we will be limiting admission into the Marquis Ballroom, which will include only candidates, their immediate families, precinct chairs and vice-chairs, elected officials, and the media. The Marquis Ballroom has the capacity for over six hundred (600) individuals, but by limiting attendees, this will help facilitate social distancing. Attendees will be requested to wear masks and to socially distance during the event.”

Shine also said, “We want to provide a venue for our precinct chairs and vice-chairs, candidates and their immediate families, elected officials, and the local news media to provide a central location for our rank and file to gather, while at the same time limiting attendance to ensure compliance with public health recommendations. For those who are not precinct chairs or vice chairs, candidates and their immediate families, or elected officials, we are encouraging you to, instead, celebrate from home by following the Allen County GOP website (allencountygop.com) which will feature election results as they are received from the Allen County Election Board.”

On Wednesday, November 4, 2020, the Allen County GOP will hold its Post-Election Day Traditional Coney Dog Lunch, at Allen County GOP Headquarters, 135 West Main Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana. People interested in attending this event must pre-register by emailing Tom Harris at tah46835@frontier.com, as only the first fifty (50) reservations will be admitted. Participants will be encouraged to wear masks when they are not eating at the event.
