Allen County Coroner’s news release:
20th Allen County Homicide
(June 13, 2020) – The Allen County Coroner’s Office was contacted at about 0054 hours on June 13, 2020 and was advised of a shooting investigation in the 2100 block of Gillmore Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Fort Wayne Police Department Officers arrived on scene and found the victim, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Three Rivers Ambulance Paramedics provided medical aid and death was pronounced on scene.
The autopsy has been completed and the next of kin has been notified of the death of Manuel M. Mendez, male Hispanic 34 years of age.
The Cause of Death is Multiple Gunshot Wounds and the Manner of Death is Homicide. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
Manuel M. Mendez is the 20th Homicide in Allen County for 2020.
