On March 7, 2020 at approx 10:25 am Officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the parking lot of the Apple Glen Wal-Mart in reference to a report of a suspicious person that was driving around the parking lot in a Burgundy Chevy Impala wearing a black ski mask.

Prior to Officers arrival on scene they were advised that the suspect was now hitting a subject in the parking lot with a baseball bat and the victim was now on the ground and the suspect was still hitting the victim.

As Officers were getting close to the area they were advised that the suspect had gotten back into the car and was heading towards the area of the Best Buy and was seen heading out onto Jefferson Blvd.

As a Fort Wayne Detective was coming into the area he observed the vehicle and the driver was still wearing the ski mask. The vehicle information was passed on to all Neighboring Counties and Wells County advised that they were trying to stop the vehicle in their County and were unable to as well.

As Officers began to speak with witnesses they were advised that the suspect first appeared to have possibly struck the victim with the car and then exited the vehicle and began to strike the victim with a black in color baseball bat.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with Non-Life Threatening Injuries and upon his arrival at the hospital his condition was downgraded to Life Threatening Injuries.
