News release from Greater Fort Wayne:

Guardian Machine Protection prepares to grow

(August 5, 2019) — Local startup Guardian Machine Protection is preparing for major growth. The company today announced plans to add up to 170 new jobs as it aims to keep a growing number of local and regional manufacturers running at peak efficiency.

Headquartered at 6015 Highview Dr. in Fort Wayne, Guardian Machine Protection provides preventive maintenance services for manufacturers’ industrial machinery. The company was born out of a need to provide a solution to a common pain point in the manufacturing sector.

Founding company Wall Control Services, started in 2011, created Guardian Machine Protection, with the help of Robert Clark, founder and CEO of Scale Ventures. Using an innovative and cost-effective approach, the company has found a growing niche, providing proactive basic preventive maintenance with simple, predictable pricing.

“It’s an honor to have so many customers put their trust in us,” said Yan Wall, founder and CEO of Guardian Machine Protection. “Business owners and maintenance managers turn to Guardian Machine Protection when their maintenance staffs are too busy attending to urgent issues. Reactive behavior negatively affects the bottom line. We serve our customers when they need us, and we proactively engage with their teams to plan scheduled downtimes for preventive maintenance. Our monthly preventive maintenance plans keep costs simple and predictable.”

“Indiana’s talented workforce and pro-growth business climate, paired with a robust and diversified manufacturing industry, create the perfect place for companies like Guardian Machine Protection to invest and grow,” said Elaine Bedel, president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC). “Guardian Machine Protection’s commitment to northeast Indiana will help advance the state’s reputation as a leader in manufacturing while supporting even more quality career opportunities for Hoosiers.”

The IEDC offered Guardian Machine Protection up to $1 million in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans. These incentives are performance-based, meaning that until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. Northeast Indiana Works will provide the company with additional hiring and training assistance. Fort Wayne City Council also will consider tax phase-ins for Guardian Machine Protection’s eligible real and personal (equipment) property investments.

“I’m encouraged by the growth and success that Guardian Machine Protection is experiencing,” Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry said. “Our community becomes stronger and more vibrant through business investments and new jobs that make a lasting and meaningful impact. Our city appreciates Guardian Machine Protection’s commitment to being a recognized leader in the manufacturing industry.”
