On March 28, 2019, at 0007 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 2800 block of Drexel Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Scene: 0009 hours
Under Control: 0022 hours
Just after midnight, a 9-1-1 caller reported that a candle had started a fire in his bedroom as he slept. Two minutes later at 0007 hours, firefighters arrived to find smoke and fire coming from a bedroom window. The fire was under control within 13 minutes.
The occupant and his dog self-evacuated safely.
