News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, Oliver Street
(August 15, 2018) – Just after 5:20 AM this morning, multiple callers reported a house on fire in the 4500 block of Oliver St. Two minutes later Fort Wayne Fire Department units arrived to find flames through roof of a single family home. Crews tried to advance but heavy fire had to be knocked down from outside before it was safe to enter. Multiple hose lines were used to extinguish the fire within 22 minutes after arrival.
No one was inside during the fire. The house suffered heavy fire, water, and smoke damage. The fire is still under investigation.
The FWFD was assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Neighborhood Code Enforcement, Indiana Michigan Power, the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, and NIPSCO.
