Shooting Investigation

Details:
On July 21, 2018, at 12:13 am, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of an unconscious person inside a vehicle in the parking lot of Walgreens, 2400 N. Coliseum, reported by an employee who was closing up the business. Officers arrived and located an adult male in the driver’s seat of a vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot wound(s). The male was pronounced deceased by paramedics.
Since there were no witnesses on the scene, it is currently unknown as to what transpired. Crime scene personnel are processing the scene, searching for and collecting any evidence. Detectives will be looking at any available video surveillance from the numerous nearby businesses in search of what happened. Hence, there are no suspects or suspect descriptions.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police. The cause and manner of death, as well as the decedent’s identity, will be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
