Theft and Corrupt Business Influence Arrests

Subjects Arrested:

1. Jordan Baughn – adult/male

  • Theft (Felony)
  • Corrupt Business Influence (Felony)

2. Christine J. Esparza – adult/female

  • Theft (Felony)
  • Corrupt Business Influence (Felony)

On March 6th, 2017 Detectives of the Fort Wayne Police Department arrested Jordan Baughn and Christine Esparza in connection with an internal theft investigation. Esparza had been employed at First Response in Fort Wayne. Baughn was arrested just after 6:00 a.m. and Esparza was arrested at 9:30 a.m.

Detectives received information that Esparaza had stolen merchandise from her employer and was attempting to sell the merchandise. Undercover Detectives purchased the stolen merchandise on three separate occasions. Jordan Baughn and Christine Esparza live together and both Jordan Baughn and Christine Esparza participated in the sale of the merchandise. Once Baughn and Esparza were arrested, the vehicles they operated were searched and additional merchandise was recovered. The management of First Response assisted in the investigation. The total retail loss would have approximately $5,000.00 but the merchandised was recovered and is in the process of being returned.
