News release from the City of Fort Wayne:

Redevelopment Commission Seeks Developer for Downtown Property

(January 9, 2017) – The Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission is requesting proposals to develop an underutilized property in downtown Fort Wayne. The Redevelopment Commission owns property at the northwest corner of Main and Harrison streets, adjacent to Randall Lofts and The Landing, and just blocks from the first phase of Riverfront Fort Wayne.

“Downtown revitalization is in full swing, and developers are looking for investment opportunities,” said Nancy Townsend, executive director of the Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission. “By offering this prime location, we hope to get the property back on the tax rolls and contribute to the growth and excitement in downtown Fort Wayne.”

According to Townsend, as downtown Fort Wayne continues to thrive, more developers and businesses are expressing interest in properties within the heart of the community. This offering of a key downtown location is expected to generate increased interest and encourage innovative proposals from the private sector. The intent is to accept proposals that will further position Fort Wayne as a point of destination where families and businesses want to live, work and play.

The Request for Proposals document is located online here: www.FWCommunityDevelopment.org/MainHarrisonRFP. Proposals will be due February 10, 2017.
