House Fire, Dewald avenue
(September 19, 2016) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a report of smoke coming from a residence in the 600 block of West Dewald Street. Crews arrived to find moderate smoke coming from the 600 block of West Dewald Street.
Firefighters initiated an offensive interior attack and quickly extinguished a fire in the kitchen at the rear of the first floor. A small dog was rescued from the house and placed in custody of Animal Care and Control. No one was home at the time of the incident and there were no injuries to firefighters.
FWFD received assistance from FWPD, Neighborhood Code, NIPSCO, and TRAA.
