(June 3, 2016) – The TinCaps fell to the Dayton Dragons, 4-0, on Friday night at Parkview Field in the opener of a three-game series.

Enyel De Los Santos (L, 3-2) struck out four batters in five innings of work for Fort Wayne (29-26), but he surrendered three runs.

Luis Gonzalez opened the scoring for Dayton (14-41) during the second frame, smacking a double to bring in Mitch Trees. In the third inning, Shed Long hit an RBI triple, and James Vasquez followed with an RBI single.

Trees added an RBI single in the eighth off Nick Monroe to help the Dragons end a 12-game losing skid. Jose Lopez (W, 4-5) earned the victory after throwing seven shutout innings.

TinCaps right fielder Jhonatan Peña improved his season-best hitting streak to six games with a triple during the seventh frame. Kodie Tidwell notched his 18th hit in the last 14 outings, extending his on-base streak to 15 games.

Monroe and Phil Maton combined to allow one run in four innings of relief.
