The Chicago Tribune ran an article Tuesday, May 31, 2016, about a report that ranks Chicago out of 150 for “staycations”.
Well, surprise of surprises, while Chicago was ranked in 99th position, Fort Wayne beat out the Windy City by two spots for the 97th position.
Fort Wayne beat out Indianapolis which ranked 116th.
Some other cities in our area of note: Toledo Ohio at 105 and Columbus Ohio at 111. Fort Wayne still lags behind Grand Rapids Michigan which ranked at 31st place.

In its 2016 list of best and worst cities for staycations, Wallethub ranked Chicago 99 out of 150.
The nation’s 150 largest cities were ranked based on three primary categories: recreation, food and entertainment, and rest and relaxation.
[…] Major Midwestern cities such as Cincinnati (10) and St. Louis (14), as well as some smaller ones — Akron, Ohio (71) and Fort Wayne, Ind. (97) — came in ahead of Chicago.
