Shooting Investigation

Date/Time of Incident: 05-30-2016 22:30

Location of Incident: 2500 block of Brooklyn Avenue

Victims:

  1. Male Adult (Deceased)
  2. Female Adult (Serious Condition)

Details:

On Monday May 30, 2016 at approximately 2230 hours, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a residence located in the 2500 block of Brooklyn Avenue in reference to shots fired. As officers were arriving in the area, additional 911 calls came into dispatch advising of a shooting. As officers arrived on the scene, they located a male adult victim and a female adult victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived on the scene and administered medical attention to the victims before transporting both victims to a local hospital. Once arriving at the hospital the male victim was listed in critical condition. A short time after arriving at the hospital, the male victim was pronounced dead. The female victim was listed in serious condition.

Investigators on the scene advised that a male arrived at a residence located in the 2500 block of Brooklyn Avenue and fired several gunshots at the male and female that were located outside to the rear of a residence before leaving the area southbound on foot. Investigators are speaking with witnesses to obtain additional information regarding the suspect information. At this time, there have been no arrests made with this investigation.

The names of the male victim will be released at a later time by the Allen County Coroners Office. The name of the female victim will be released at a later time. This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Coroners Office, and the Allen County Prosecutors Office.
