News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, Ridgewood Drive
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was called to an apartment fire at 850 Ridgewood Drive at 12:15 p.m. Crews arrived to find a small fire in the dryer that had filled the apartment with smoke. Crews searched the apartment and found the family cat. Fire crews along with Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control tried to revive the animal, but were unsuccessful.
