USF Lecture: “What’s this nonsense about values?”

(April 7, 2016) – The Department of Philosophy and Theology and the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Saint Francis invites you to a free public lecture, “What’s This Nonsense About Values?” on Sunday April 17, 2016 at 3 p.m. on the campus of the University of Saint Francis, Brookside Ballroom, 2701 Spring Street, Fort Wayne, IN. The lecture is part of a series offered by the Department of Philosophy and Theology faculty throughout the academic year.

Why do values occasion controversy? What are values? How do they relate to facts? What are the roots of common confusions, distortions and fallacies about values? Dr. Earl Kumfer, professor of philosophy and theology, will consider these concerns and suggest remedies.

For additional information, contact Angie Springer at 260-399-7700 x8100 or aspringer@sf.edu or visit the website at https://philosophy.sf.edu/lecture-series/.
