(March 30, 2016) – The best brass bands in all the land will travel to Fort Wayne for the 2016 North American Brass Band Association Championships on April 1 and 2.

For two days, 30 competition bands and assembles, and more than 1,100 performers from the United States and Canada, will compete for championship honors in six sections (classes). Performances will take place at the Historic Embassy Theatre.

Fort Wayne’s very own Old Crown Brass Band will kick-off the championships with a special performance on Friday, April 1 at 7:00 p.m. The local band will compete in the third section, as well.

The general public is invited to attend both days of the championships. Two-day adult tickets are $25 and student tickets are $10, and can be purchased at the Embassy Theatre Box Office.

The NABBA Championships came to Fort Wayne for the first-time ever in 2014, and plan to return to the Summit City in 2017 and 2018. The championship brings in an estimated $300,000 in economic impact to Fort Wayne annually.
