Public Meeting to Review Report Set for March 16

(March 9, 2016) – The annual report detailing how the City of Fort Wayne invested U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) dollars in 2015 is now available for public review.

Comments regarding the report, called the Consolidated Annual Action Performance Evaluation Review (CAPER), will be accepted at a public meeting on March 16 and in writing through March 24, 2016.

The public meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 16 at 6 p.m. at the Allen County Public Library, downtown branch, 900 Library Plaza, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46802. The meeting will be held in Meeting Room C located on the first floor.

A draft copy of the CAPER is available for review online at www.fwcommunitydevelopment.org/caper. It is also available to read in hard copy at the Pontiac Branch of the Allen County Public Library, 2215 S. Hanna St., and at the front desk of the City’s Community Development offices, 200 E. Berry St., Suite 320.

Residents may email feedback about the CAPER to ohns@cityoffortwayne.org or mail their comments to Attn: CAPER, Citizens Square, 200 E. Berry St., Suite 320, Fort Wayne, IN 46802. Input received from the public will be included in the final plans that the City submits to HUD.

The CAPER is required by all agencies that received Federal housing dollars. The CAPER tallies all the Federal dollars received by the City’s Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services in 2015 and includes Community Development Block Grants, HOME Investment Partnership Act dollars, Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds and Emergency Solutions Grants. All HUD dollars must be used to improve the quality of life for low- to moderate-income residents.
