Blackhawk Christian Theatre will present the stage musical SEUSSICAL on March 18 and 19, 2016
(March 1, 2016) – The show will be performed in the North Campus gym of Blackhawk Christian Elementary School at 7400 East State Boulevard. Performances begin at 7:00 with the doors opening at 6:30. Tickets will be available at the door: $8.00 for adults, $6.00 for students.
The musical premiered at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York on November 30, 2000 and ran for 198 performances. Following its Broadway run, the musical has become a perennial favorite in high schools, universities and community theatres. It was the most-performed musical in high schools for several years in a row. The stage musical was co-conceived by Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty and Eric Idle (Monty Python), and presents a mash-up of at least 18 beloved Dr. Seuss tales.
The BCT production features sophomore Jesse Harris in the role of the Cat in the Hat, and 6th grader Jaden East in the role of JoJo. Over 50 other Blackhawk students round out the cast and production crew.
