CLHS to celebrate Fine Arts Week

(February 19, 2016) — Concordia Lutheran High School is celebrating the fine arts with a week full of activities beginning March 7.

CLHS has a long history of award-winning band and choir groups and noted artists. During this Fine Arts Week, students in the band, choir and visual and media art classes will have a chance to showcase their work throughout the school and to the community.

There will be an assembly on March 9 featuring the variety of arts at Concordia, including choral and instrumental music, visual and media art, and drama. The Rev. Dennis Borchers will share the message in the weekly chapel. On March 11, the Purdue Jazz Band will perform during a special assembly for the students.

The Fine Arts Week will conclude on March 13 with the Lutheran Schools Music and Arts Festival, which is open to the public. There will be a free art show throughout the school from 1-3:30 p.m. and a free concert from CLHS and Lutheran grade school students at 2 p.m. in the CLHS auditorium.
