News release from the City of Fort Wayne:
Ruth’s Chris Steak House to be part of Skyline Tower development
(February 12, 2016) – Great Lakes Capital is proud to announce Ruth’s Chris Steak House as their first floor anchor tenant in Fort Wayne’s new Skyline Tower. The luxury steakhouse will add Fort Wayne to a very small, distinguished list of cities that enjoy their prime steak, nationwide.
“We are excited to announce such a key component to Skyline, one that has been years in the making. With a project of this magnitude, we knew we needed a restaurant partner that was both unequivocal in its regional draw and would complement the Fort Wayne market while continuing to drive the renaissance of downtown,” said Ryan Rans, Managing Partner of Great Lakes Capital. “And Ruth’s Chris is the perfect fit.”
“Working with GLC in the past, we trusted their vision and from the initial stages were interested in being part of the revitalization of the city. We believe that GLC has demonstrated a dynamic plan that will transform the way residents and visitors alike enjoy the downtown area,” said Larry Griggers, franchise partner of Ruth’s Chris Steak House.
Ruth’s Chris celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2015 with over 140 locations, worldwide. Fort Wayne will become only the fourth Ruth’s Chris in the state of Indiana, following two very successful restaurants in Indianapolis and one in South Bend.
Ruth’s Chris will be on the first floor of Skyline Tower and will employ approximately 50. The restaurant should open in the Fall of 2017.
In January, GLC announced the firm had reached an agreement with the city of Fort Wayne to develop Skyline Tower, a distinctive $40 million mixed-use development continuing the renaissance of downtown Fort Wayne.
“I continue to be encouraged by the investment and excitement we’re seeing in the heart of our city,” said Mayor Tom Henry. “Having a well-respected restaurant tenant as part of the Skyline Tower development is great news for our community. Fort Wayne is moving in the right direction to provide residents, businesses, and guests with amenities and opportunities that set us apart as a point of destination.”
