News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
Building Fire, 2208 South Lafayette Street
(November 26, 2015) – FWFD crews arrived to a two-story building at 2208 South Lafayette Street to find the 2nd floor fully involved with fire. Crew made an interior attack with hose lines but was quickly pulled out and the fire was extinguished from the exterior in a defensive mode. Two ladder trucks were set up to apply water into the building from elevated position. The fire was under control in less than a hour.
The fire department was assisted by FWPD, TRAA, AEP, NIPSCO, and NCE.
Fire crews will remain on the scene most of the night.
